Sri S Vedantam Ji started Kola Saraswathi Maternity and General Hospital with land and building provided by the Philanthropist Smt Saraswathi Kola Perumal. The hospital was located in the busy Dr Alagappa Road, Purasaiwakkam, Chennai. During the initial stages Dr Radhikaput-in great efforts and supported to establish the hospital.
Honorary President of Swami Vivekananda Medical mission, Sri Dr Srivatsan M.D has been managing the hospital for many years successfully.
After few years of operation, considering the need for expansion and more facilities, Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission joined hands with Shree Agarwal Samaj (Madras) and established the Kola Saraswathi Agarwal Samaj Health Centre which is situated within core heart of the city of Chennai. Here we have medical consultation, check-up and treatment of various diseases at very low or reasonably low cost that can be afforded by even a lower income group person.
Kola Saraswathi is a multi-speciality hospital and specialises in Maternity and Child Care.Today the hospital is well equipped with latest equipment and surgical apparatus and well experienced doctors are always available on call for all kinds of possible treatment at our hospital. The facilities available consist of 22 beds, air conditioned and non-air conditioned beds, Intensive care unit, Dental clinic, Physiotherapy centre, Operation theatre, ECG, X-Ray, Ultrasound, Lab-testing of all kinds, medicine shop etc.
